The board of governors of the school has approved the temporary appointments of Mr. Sean Wallace and Mrs. Heather Boyd-Cunningham.

Mr. Sean Wallace has been appointed Acting Vice-principal for at least this upcoming term. Among his new duties, he will continue to assist the Dean of Discipline in the lower school area. He will be stationed in the office Mrs. Boyd-Cunningham sat last year. Mrs. Cunningham has been appointed the Acting Principal until the appointment of a principal has been approved by the Teaching Services Commission. This commission is responsible to recommend to the Minister of Education the appointment for principal and vice-principals in schools.

The appointments have become necessary as the previous principal, Mr. Cedric Murray and vice-principal, Mrs. Yvonne Johnson-Smith have retired. Their retirement commences at the beginning of the new school year.

The school administration and the school community thanked them both for their sterling contribution to the development of the school.

Mrs. Johnson-Smith served the school community for twenty (20) years in many capacities: form teacher, grade supervisor and vice-principal. She was committed and industrious worker whose contribution made an indelible mark on the storyboard of the school.

Mr. Murray served the school for sixteen and a half years at the helm of the school's administration. He was an innovative leader who was able to employ the various talents, skills and passion of the staff with unmatched synergy to transform the school in one that has become a school of choice in Portmore.

As we begin the new school year, Mrs. Boyd-Cunningham and Mr. Wallace will manage the affairs of the school in conjunction with the school's executive.
