Several infrastructural improvements were made to the school plant during the summer holidays.

When students return to school next week, they will have access to newly renovated bathrooms with vastly improved aesthetics and decor. The male teachers' bathroom was also renovated and teachers who are station in the science and grade 10 area will now have access to a newly constructed bathroom behind the Physical Education Department.

In addition to the improvements made to the sanitation area, the school's main canteen has been refurbished, redesigned and restructured. Starting September, students will be served through more spacious windows at the canteen improving service provided to students. New stove and other furnishings have been installed in the new canteen. The canteen is now open completely and patrons will now be able to see how their foods are being prepared.

Some educational facilities were also upgraded and a new computer lab was constructed. Adjacent to the audio-visual room in the library, a small computer lab containing no more than 20 computers have been erected. This lab will increase the school's capacity to provide access to computers for academic purposes to students and teachers alike. Computer Lab 2 has also been renovated so that it can accommodate at least thirty computers- much needed resources to execute Information Technology curricular activities. The renovation train also travelled to the Home Economics Department. The foods lab behind the canteen has received recently renovated tables and other equipment to assist in the delivery of the curriculum to students. Three classes have also been identified to be specially retrofitted as enhancement centres. They will receive special chairs and other resources. They are pilot projects to see how students will use and care the resources. Their response to this initiative will determine if the programme will be expanded to other classes.

The walls and the classroom have also been painted much more uniformly.

It is hoped that students will appreciate the hardwork that was put in to ensure that they return to school in a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment. Students will be told as they return that no misuse of the furniture, wall, school resource or infrastructure will be tolerated. Students will be sanctioned severally for the said misuse if it occurs. Nevertheless a much more comfortable environment should improve student's conduct and behaviour.

Much thanks should be expressed to the Bursar Miss Dionne Brooks and her team for the hardwork of coordinating and executing all these projects which took place at the same time.
