No Manning Cup Team

Ascot High School will not be participating in the Annual Inter-School Secondary Association (ISSA) Manning Cup Football Competition.
However, the school will field a team in the ISSA Colts and Pepsi competitions. The thrust from the school administration is to build a stronger manning cup team over a two year period starting with the younger boys. Unfortunately, the current team is not presently characterized with the desired attributes and values to pose any real challenge to any other team in the competition. It is hoped that rebuiding the team from the Colts level will produce a more formidable team in the near future.
The coach of the Colts and Pepsi teams will be Mr. Beckford. He will be charged with leading this rebuilding process. He not only intends to sharpen his players' football skills but he also wants to help them improve academically and socially. He has started to look at the players' discipline and he intends to focus on that area during the rebuilding process. Discipline is undoubted and important ingredient to the success of this developmemt programme upon which the school now embarks.
Hence, the school administration looks forward to the support from the school community in this venture.
